Sitting in Helsinki-Vantaa airport and getting excited to share with you all at the conference! Make sure to check the Twitter feed and this site for updates regularly now. I've already added some things to the site, and will be adding more that we will explain during the pre-conference opening and agenda setting session. In the meantime, please make sure to check the Lanyrd page and update your specific session and add a picture to your speaker avatar so you are more easy to identify. All I can say at this point is prepare to be disrupted with innovation!

Today brings good news from CEESA...instead of projectors, we will be provided with 5 x 50-inch plasma screen TVs for those that are doing a presentation-style workshop. They will be providing cables for connecting to computers, though I would suggest if you have an Apple computer, that you bring along a video adapter that fits your computer (if you have an Apple laptop - MacBook, MacBook Pro/Air/Retina - from the last 3 years, this will mean a mini-display port adapter). This is good news since it means now there will only be 1 workshop slot out of 6 that will be without a screen. Other reminders are to make sure you are up to speed on how to use Twitter - though this may be a breakout session in the corner for those that would like a personal tutorial, as well as that you will have access to some kind of mobile device or laptop that you can use to interact with our backchannel conversations and digital breadcrumb corner (more on the latter during the pre-conference). Please also continue to update the pre-conference Lanyrd site with accurate information as well since I'm just pulling from the original document at this point. Can't wait to see and work with you all soon! See you in Dubrovnik, Joe Greetings! The pre-Conference and Conference are fast approaching and things are falling into place! That said, there are still a few things we are in the final process of setting up. One of the things that is important to note is that we will only have access to 3, maybe 4 projectors, for the round-robin part of our pre-Conference (see this post regarding the conference schedule and possible workshop formats). This means that there will be 2 or 3 workshops that will need to take place without projection ability, catering less to the presentation format and more to the roundtable, discussion, interactive format. I'm going to bank on the fact that this will not have an impact on our innovative group, and the variety of workshops that will be available. The other important effect this has is that it places an even bigger importance on the need for everyone to come with some kind of mobile device (or one between partners) with which to connect to our pre-Conference digital dialogue and sign-ups. We will be posting the agenda in an online format (something new) rather than sticking it up on the walls, and projecting it initially for everyone to see. However, since we will need that projector for the workshops as well, you will need a web-enabled device to access the agenda for the rest of the morning (I hope this makes sense!). This means you can disregard the earlier request for you to print out your session title and description on A6 paper. For those that did not fill in the form I sent out a couple of weeks ago, I will be using what was in your original submission to CEESA for the lanyrd.com site, so if anything has changed, or you want to refine it to better reflect your final product, please fill in the form ASAP. Again, please don't hesitate to email me with questions about this and see you all very soon! Make sure you are checking the pre-Conference website, getting up to snuff on your Twitter and hooked into the lanyrd.com site for all the latest info. Catch you soon! Joe |
